One of my absolute favorite family traditions is making bourbon baked sweet potatoes for Thanksgiving. It doesn’t feel like the holidays without them! This is a recipe passed down from my grandmother.

Ingredients

4 Medium Size Yams
1/3 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter
2 Eggs lightly beaten
1/2 Cup Heavy Cream
1/4 TSP Salt
1/4 TSP Nutmeg
1/2 TSP Cinnamon
1/3 Cup Raisins (I like using Crasins, they’re a little sweeter)
1/4 Cup Bourbon  (plus the cook’s share 🙃)

Instructions

~Preheat oven to 375* F
~Wash potatoes – poke – bake in microwave 15 minutes (I turn them over halfway through)
~Let cool, peel and mash in bowl, add all other ingredients and mix thoroughly.
~Place in greased casserole dish and bake uncovered 15 minutes.
