This beanie was born almost immediately after I learned how to crochet; my love for Donkey Kong 64 began the birth of my fandom related crochet!

When I was in elementary school I was absolutely obsessed with Donkey Kong 64! I used to dress up as Tiny Kong (sans hat because I didn’t have one at the time) and dance the DK Rap at lunchtime every. single day.

When I first learned how to crochet and make a beanie, I knew I had to make a Tiny Kong beanie (she’s my favorite character out of the whole DK franchise probably) to relive my childhood fangirling.

This beanie is super easy to make, when I first wrote it down I didn’t really have a base beanie pattern to base it off of like my half double crochet beanie pattern. I think my first few Tiny Kong beanies were a mix of single crochet and half double crochet?

After I wrote my half double crochet beanie pattern I adjusted my Tiny Kong beanie to fit that pattern, and it worked out a lot better without having weird stitch changes.
