Drifloon – the balloon Pokémon – these Pokémon are often called the “signpost for wandering spirits”. Children that have been spotted holding on to Drifloon are sometimes reported missing later.

I love getting inspiration from games that already have themed clothing. With Pokémon Go, you’re able to customize your character with a variety of tops, bottoms, and accessories like hats and backpacks!

One of my favorite hats in the game is this super cute Drifloon beanie! I wanted to recreate it as soon as I saw it. This is a nice easy pattern that basically takes my Basic HDC Beanie and adds some applique pieces and a pom-pom to it to create this iconic balloon Pokémon!
You can find the ad-free PDF version of this pattern in my store, or on Ravelry or Ribblr!
Materials
1 skein worsted weight (#4) yarn in each of the following colors:
Light purple
Black
White
Yellow
J/10 (6mm) hook
F/5 (3.75mm) hook
Embroidery scissors
Finishing needle
Ch – chain
Dc – double crochet
Rnd – round
Hdc – half double crochet
Sc- single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
St – stitch
Tr – triple crochet
Notes
Ch 1 at the beginning of each round does not count as a st.
Join at the end of each round with a sl st to the top of the first
st.
Gauge: 12 hdc x 11 rows in a 4” square with a J hook.
It’s not hugely important what the size of the other parts of the
hat are, but for reference the mouth I made with my F hook
came out to be about 3 1⁄2” square when finished.
This pattern is for an adult sized beanie.
